- Clear posting of the "billed as" descriptor.
- Clear posting of the Customer Service telephone number and/or email address.
- Clear posting of the Terms and Conditions / Refund and Return Policy.
- Clear posting of delivery methods and timeframes.
- Listing of products with pricing stated in their settlement currency.
- Website pay page needs to be SSL secured.
- The domain name should be registered under the company's name.
- Require a username and password which enables access to site to carry out the due diligence.
- Check that the Visa, MasterCard and all credit card logos are evident.
- Check the website's certificate address and ensure it meets security requirements.
- Check if the website shows links to other websites. If so, check them and ensure they are within credit policy guidelines.
- Check how long it takes for the merchant to offer refunds.
- Check the website checkout billing information.
- Check Alexa.com for the web site traffic rating.
- Check that the merchant is not involved in illegal activity.
- Compliance with all legal regulations and legal disclaimers.
- Compliance with regulations of the credit card companies.
- Compliance with adult website notifications.
